Whoever said you can have too much of a good thing obviously never met Tony Lucidonio Jr. or been to his famous South Philly restaurant simply called Tony Luke’s. There you’ll find everything from the famous cheesesteaks to world famous barbecue and even a breakfast menu that would make most diners shudder. However, if you’re coming to Tony Luke’s, beware of the five-pound, foot-and-a-half monster waiting around the corner.

It’s called the Ultimate Cheesesteak Challenge but many have called it master as they buckle beneath its enormous weight. Made up of 3 pounds of beef, 1 pound of American cheese and all of it topped with a half-pound of fried onions and stuffed into a 20-inch roll, this monstrous meal offers a challenge that’s not for the faint of heart. The challenge: finish it in under an hour and get your picture on the Wall of Fame.

Cheesesteaks are a popular sandwich and they aren’t only limited to the city of Philadelphia. People all over the country enjoy a good cheesesteak and they’ve only become more popular as time goes on. Recently a Man v. Food episode covered the aforementioned sandwich and everyone from Seattle to places with direct tv chapel hill service saw Richman conquer the five-pound beast in under 30 minutes. Still, if you want a good cheesesteak and you want it done right, best to stick with the place where it originated.
